Living in Lake Garda and the Valtenesi

This is the part of the lake closest to the A4 motorway, the Desenzano high-speed rail station and Verona and Brescia airports. That is why it appeals both to people who live here all year round and to those looking for a second home.

In the Valtenesi, the landscape changes every few kilometres. There are villages with castles, olive groves and Chiaretto vineyards (the local rosé wine), long beaches and small coves below the Rocca di Manerba headland. Here you mostly find villas and small detached houses with gardens, apartments in residential complexes with communal pools and farmhouses to restore.

Frequently asked questions

Which towns are part of the Valtenesi?

As a geographical area, the Valtenesi usually includes Padenghe sul Garda, Moniga del Garda, Manerba del Garda, Soiano del Lago, Polpenazze del Garda, Puegnago del Garda and San Felice del Benaco. The Unione dei Comuni della Valtenesi, the official union of municipalities, brings together only 4 of them: Manerba, Moniga, Padenghe and Soiano.

Is it better to buy on the lake or inland?

It depends on how you will use the home. If you will live here all year, services, schools and transport links matter most. For a holiday home, the views and the distance from the shore count more. The Valtenesi hills are often a good compromise between views, peace and quiet, and price.

Do you also work with foreign buyers?

Yes. Many of our clients come from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands. We support them from the first viewing to the final deed of sale (rogito), including video viewings and contact via WhatsApp.
